Student Government Association looks to promote elections

If a student offers you a ride to class on a golf cart Tuesday, don't be afraid. It's part a Student Government Association called "SGA Day."

"We created it mainly because elections are coming up and we wanted to promote SGA and what we've done so far this year," director of communication Alyse Toulotte said.

The junior sports management major said SGA members will man a tent on the beach between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

They'll hand out snowballs and flyers listing the group's accomplishments this school year. "It'll help make people more aware of us and what we do," she said. "Hopefully it'll draw attention so people know SGA elections are coming up, and get more people to vote."

SGA election petitions are available in University Union Room 227. They are due on Friday. Elections will take place on April 18 and 19.
