During a meeting at Towson University Thursday morning, the Finance Committee of the University System of Maryland Board of Regents will vote on fiscal year 2006 room and board charges and 10-year system-wide enrollment projections.

The meeting will be held in Rooms 314-316 of the University Union and will begin at 10 a.m.

The committee is expected to approve charges and fees for USM's 13 institutions, including Towson. TU's average room and board rates will increase 5 percent, from $3,968 to $4,166. Meal plan costs will increase 3 percent and parking permits will increase 6 percent, from $200 a year to $212.

The committee will also discuss enrollment projections for the university system. Between 2005 and 2014, USM analysts are projecting a 32.7 percent increase in overall projected headcount growth for state institutions, from 128,807 to 170,865 students.
